Understand your body through light, redox, mitochondria and rhythm

My core idea

Your body is not just a bag of chemistry.

It is a dynamic biological network that uses light, electrons, water, rhythm and mitochondrial function to organise energy, repair, hormones, inflammation and metabolism.

This means many of the things we usually separate — sleep, weight, mood, hormones, inflammation, food cravings, fatigue, sunlight, stress and ageing — are deeply connected.

My goal is to help you understand those connections in a way that is simple, visual and practical.

What I teach

🌞 Light & circadian rhythm

How sunlight, darkness, blue light, melatonin, cortisol and timing shape your biology.

⚡ Mitochondria & redox

Why your mitochondria process electrons, not just calories — and why electron flow sits at the centre of energy, repair and resilience.

🔥 Metabolism beyond calories

Why weight, appetite, blood sugar and energy are controlled by light, hormones, mitochondria, sleep and timing — not calories alone.

🌿 Inflammation & repair

How inflammation acts as a signal, and why repair depends on mitochondrial function, redox balance, sleep and circadian rhythm.

💧 Water, deuterium & food

How food is more than fuel — it is electron potential, hydrogen flow, metabolic water and biological information.

🧬 Hormones & midlife biology

A deeper way to understand menopause, leptin, cortisol, thyroid, stress, sleep and metabolic change.

Where to begin

Step 1: Join for free 🌱

Start by joining my free Patreon membership.

This gives you access to selected posts, updates and introductory concepts so you can get a feel for how I teach.

This is perfect if you are new to light, redox, mitochondria and circadian biology.

Step 2: Enter the Light Body Lab 🌞

The Light Body Lab is my foundational paid membership.

For $5/month, you receive deeper educational posts and monthly deep dives that help you understand the bigger picture of how light, circadian rhythm, mitochondria, redox, hormones, energy and inflammation all connect.

This is the best place to start if you love understanding the “why” behind health.

Best for: curious learners who want deeper monthly education.

Step 3: Go deeper with Redox in Practice ⚡

Redox in Practice includes everything inside the Light Body Lab, plus practical guides, modules, trackers, checklists and tools.

This is where the ideas become more structured and practical.

You’ll find resources designed to help you apply redox, light, rhythm and mitochondrial principles in everyday life.

Best for: people who want practical tools, guided learning and step-by-step support.

🧬 The Redox Menopause Reset

Understanding midlife biology through light, mitochondria, hormones, inflammation and metabolic rhythm.

The simplest way to understand my work

Calories are the label.
Electrons are the biology.

Sunlight is not just vitamin D.
It is biological information.

Sleep is not just rest.
It is repair timing.

Food is not just fuel.
It is electron potential, hydrogen flow and mitochondrial instruction.

Inflammation is not just the enemy.
It is a signal asking for resolution.

Redox is the language your body uses to decide whether it has enough energy to repair, adapt and thrive.

Start with one question

Instead of asking, “What supplement fixes this?”
start asking:

What is my body responding to?

Is it responding to the light environment?
The timing of food?
Poor sleep?
Stress chemistry?
Inflammation?
Mitochondrial congestion?
Circadian mismatch?
Low redox capacity?

This is the shift I teach.

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. 🌞

This is the best place to begin if you are new to my work.

I teach the body through a different lens: not just as chemistry, calories, hormones or isolated organs, but as a living, light-responsive, electrically connected system.

Your body is constantly responding to:

🌞 sunlight
🌙 darkness
😴 sleep
🍽️ food timing
⚡ mitochondria
🧲 redox balance
🔥 inflammation
🧬 hormones
💧 water
🧂 minerals
🧠 stress and nervous system signals

When you understand how these pieces connect, health starts to make more sense.

Welcome to the Light Body Lab

This is a space for people who want to understand the body differently.

Not as random symptoms.
Not as isolated systems.
Not as calories alone.
Not as hormones in isolation.

But as an intelligent, adaptive, light-responsive biological network.

I’m so glad you’re here.

About Dr Sara

I’m Dr Sara — a medically trained doctor, former chiropractor, educator, speaker , author and visual science communicator.

My work sits at the intersection of mitochondrial biology, redox, circadian rhythm, light, hormones, inflammation, metabolism and the body’s electrical communication systems.

After years studying both conventional and complementary health frameworks, I became fascinated by a deeper question:

What if the body is not just chemistry, but a light-responsive, electrically organised system?

Today, I help people understand complex biology through simple explanations, visual guides, analogies and practical learning modules.

My goal is to make the science of the body feel clear, connected and empowering — so you can understand why sunlight, sleep, food timing, mitochondria, minerals, hormones and inflammation are not separate topics, but part of one interconnected system.

This is education, not medical advice. But it is designed to help you ask better questions, understand your biology more deeply, and see your body through a new lens.
